REVIEW:
This single first had me trying to figure out what was happening. The way this beat plays, you would be valid in thinking you had overlapping audios playing, I did. But I actually love that. It is a bit of a chaotic sound but refreshing at the same time. Nothing feels generic about this track. Jack Panther’s vocal accompany this beat well in that it still has a bit of a raw and raspy sound to it. I think what I’m trying to say is I love how this track doesn’t sound so generic and “clean”.
Lyrically the track is one we can relate to honestly, especially in a time of lockdowns, when most of us are forced to just chill at home and do nothing. But it also makes you think about what you have to do to get to a point when you can actually have more you time.
A great track with incredible sound and one I think we all just want to be honest.

PRESS RELEASE/MORE INFO
‘If I Was’, the first single from Jack Panther’s upcoming project, is a playful, hip-hop-infused track, centred around fantasising what it would be like to be your own boss. Co-written with Mckenzie Comer (MCK) and produced by up and coming producer and artist IPSY, the track is a glimpse into Jack’s moodier, most confident sound yet. Jack admits his plan could be flawed “sell one, smoke one, smoke two — I’d be so bad at dealing”, while the unexpected outro alludes to losing sight of reality on a twisted trip.
“I was exhausted working in hospitality, sometimes working 8 days straight. The track just rolled off my tongue, it’s a daydream of giving up on work and getting stoned all day instead. I wrote it as a way to empower myself to get through that slump.”
The visual campaign for was shot by Frances Carter (BENEE, Teeks) and leans into the gritty fantasy world the project aligns itself too. After signing with Luna in March of 2021, Jack has been busy in the studio collaborating on multiple projects – signalling plenty of new music on the way and a tour of key cities in the pipeline for early 2022.
