Another sold out sideshow and one I have been waiting for for so long! I noticed Peggy always hit Australia but not NZ so to finally get him here was epic! And I wasn’t the only one who thought so. The queue to get in was down the road and around the corner as doors were about to open. People wanted that barrier and honestly, fair enough.

FERBY kicked off the show. I hadn’t heard of FERBY but I was intrigued as I loved that it was a female MC kicking things off for Peggy. She was joined onstage by a DJ but I felt like she didn’t need him or could have incorporated him more as it felt like he was just there to push play and pretend to do things but who knows.
Ferby had a great outfit on and delivered very well vocally. I appreciated that it wasn’t a lot of backing track as it seems to be everything for some artists. I thought it was great set but her tracks are quite high energy and I think she would benefit from expressing that energy herself rather than just pacing the stage back and fourth. I’ll definitely keep an eye out as I am intrigued to see what she does next.

The Powerstation so packed in and the crowd was getting antsy. Pushing forward, shouting and just hyping themselves before Peggy even took the stage. But when he did, oh how that crowd moved. JPEGMAFIA got that crowd in an almost feral type state but Peggy matched it. This is another reason why I wanted to see him live. His stage presence and energy has always been epic to me and now I get to experience it in person. And boy did he MOVE. Not only back and fourth across the stage but he got so close to jumping in the crowd and the way he would just get in the crowds face was awesome. He would be running around the stage, jumping on the side speakers and even just lying down on the stage. The crowd was loudly rapping his tracks back to him and even moshing. I definitely see his energy like that of a metal show almost.

I don’t even know how to tell you about this show. His performance was insanely great and that night was just all ENERGY! Peggy really deserved that sold-out show and I hope he has seen that he should continue to return here.
