LA by-way-of New Zealand artist Kelsy Karter is excited to release her new single and music video for “Stick To Your Guns,” out everywhere today via BMG. Showcasing her deep rock ‘n roll roots by blending big anthemic sounds with powerhouse vocals, Karter sets the tone for her forthcoming debut album, expected to release this fall.

I’ve got a reputation for speaking my mind and standing up for what i believe in but anyone in this industry knows that we can all be influenced from time to time,” Karter explains on the inspiration behind writing ‘Stick To Your Guns.’ “I went through a particularly scarring day last year where I was being told I had to be something that I’m not in order to succeed. The shit i was being told i should do to get “bigger” was so out of character for me and I went home that day feeling violated. My inner child was kicking and screaming that day for sure. But it made me remember who I was – that outspoken and puckish girl that wasn’t gonna let someone else tell me what to do. The next day i wrote ‘Stick To Your Guns’.

With intoxicating, powerful vocals and a fresh, fearless take on rock ‘n roll, the LA by-way-of New Zealand musician is an artist to watch in 2020. Finding inspiration in artists such as Queen, David Bowie, and The Rolling Stones (among others), Karter’s music encompasses these classic rock influences, blended with a contemporary sound reminiscent of Lana Del Rey and Billie Eilish. She’s also toured with The Struts in both the U.S. and the U.K. and collaborated with the band’s guitarist, Adam Slack, on her hypnotic standout track, “Liquor Store On Mars.”

Karter has been releasing songs independently all throughout 2019, including the viral sensation, “Harry.” Karter’s latest release, “Devil On My Shoulder,” debuted in March of this year with the announcement of her signing with BMG Recordings. Karter is also currently in the studio working on her debut album, expected for release later this year.
