LONGER REVIEW:
Now I don’t know if it was just because I went to a gig the night before but this one felt like it went by so quickly. This show was also SOLD OUT, so as I arrived at the venue there was already a lot of people inside. Being all ages meant those under 18 had to go upstairs so there was definitely a bit more space up there. The barrier had been pushed right against the stage, making this a very intimate performance for those close enough to the front. I know some artists don’t like barriers due to that separation so I wonder if that was his call or just a capacity thing.

I was excited when Foley took the stage. Obviously they haven’t played a show for a while. I can’t even remember the last time I saw them. But the crowd really welcomed them and let’s just say, you wouldn’t have thought they hadn’t played for years. The were joined on the stage by Holly on bass and Elijah on drums, who will be familiar faces if you’ve seen Foley live before. Ash and Gabe seemed so happy to be on that stage and were all just vibing along both with the band and the crowd.

As I mentioned above, it felt like it went so fast because before you knew it they were off stage and Still Woozy was next. Though this in between wait felt long. Probably because I was more aware of it in a way but I don’t know it felt like I dragged.

Once the lights went down and slowly came back, Harry (drummer) took the stage. Then followed Tani (keys and guitar) who ran out and was instantly getting the crowd hype before grabbing her instruments. Then the man himself Still Woozy came bounding out. They are all wild balls of energy. Still Woozy was running back and fourth across the stage while both band members were constantly dancing and vibing. There was even a moment later in the set where Harry came off the drums and they all just started dancing together. I was obsessed. It felt like it was a band just having the best time ever and that energy was definitely infectious. Some of Still Woozy’s dance moves were random and some may also find them a bit cringey but I personally think he did it so well that it wasn’t and it really suited his vibe. This from a person who obviously hasn’t seem him live before and I don’t know much of his music but I was honestly having the best time off their energy alone.
Another thing I wanted to mention is HIS HAND-PAINTED BACKDROP! At first I just thought it was printed but as I got closer, pushing into the crowd and up to the front, I could see it wasn’t just a standard printed banner (studying art and just loving art in general pays off in this way).
With all his movement I didn’t even notice that his shirt came undone at some point and sometimes you’d realise you couldn’t see him because he was down by the front row or lying down on the stage. The man was everywhere! The colourful lighting really added to the vibe of the night I think and I don’t know what else more to tell you, he is truly someone worth seeing. What a fun night!
